The European Commission, DG Information Society and Media, Software and
Services Architectures and Infrastructures Unit D3, is pleased to
invite you to the next Collaboration Meeting which will take place on
22-23 September 2008 in Brussels, as already announced last March.
The objectives of this Collaboration Meeting are
- to achieve a better understanding of the results of the FP6 projects in the area (and their use by the new projects)
- to consolidate the collaboration activities among the FP7 projects in order to build an even stronger community
The
programme foresees two days of technical and collaboration workshops
led by project participants. The Collaboration Meeting will be
co-organised by the European Commission, the BREIN and the XtreemOS
projects.
You may receive requests for contributions to the
meeting from them directly or from the coordinators of the
collaboration working groups: I cordially invite you to actively take
them up in order to help shaping a meeting which is really useful to
your work.
Participation to the Collaboration Meeting is
foreseen for FP7 ICT projects funded by Challenge 1.2 as well as for
FP6 IST projects funded by the Grid Technologies or the Software
Technologies Strategic Objectives. Also projects that want to
contribute to the Future Internet Assembly and that want to collaborate
with the Challenge 1.2 projects are welcome.
The preliminary agenda is now online at http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/ict/ssai/events-20080922-23-cm-soft_en.html
and we cordially invite you to check it. The registration facility is
expected to open soon and we will communicate to you as soon as it is.
Most
of the sessions will correspond to one or two collaboration working
groups. These sessions should be organised by the leaders of the
collaboration working groups. To find the coorinators of these CGW,
please refer to the ECSS website http://www.eu-ecss.eu/contents/technical-group/technical-groups/
or to the related paper which has been sent to you. Please note that
for each session there is a reference project officer indicated. You
should contact him/her in case of any questions.
We also wish to
draw your attention to the programme of one of the parallel sessions
which will host demos of results coming from the projects. You will be
soon contacted by the co-organising projects with a call for proposals
for demos: we expect you to take this opportunity for showing the
community the results achived by the project you lead. Demonstrations
are not expected to illustrate the full project, but should concentrate
on some specific results. Larger projects can also present more than
one demo. Details on this and on how to manifest your interest will be
sent soon.
