About

Project management

The management of the project has the main following objectives:

  • To ensure that the project is conducted in accordance with EC rules,
  • To reach the objectives of the project within the agreed budget and time scales,
  • To co-ordinate the work of the partners and ensure effective communication among them,To ensure the quality of the work performed as well as of the deliverables,
  • To ensure that decisions are made on the basis of data and factual information,
  • To inform the Governing Board about difficulties, conflicts and contingencies as needed,
  • To ensure that an organization is set up in order to support the above.
  • The fulfilment of these objectives is coordinated by the subproject SP1 "Overall Project Management ", which includes a single work package:  WP1.1 categorized as management activities and it is placed under the leadership of INRIA, in collaboration with the CDC.

 

The XtreemOS Integrated Project is organised on four levels:

  • Strategic level under the responsibility of the Governing Board
  • Executive level under the responsibility of the Executive Committee,
  • Operational level under the responsibilities of Work Package leaders,
  • Administrative and financial level under the responsibility of the Coordinator.

 

The operational, decision-making and other bodies are shown in the following image.

Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC)

The Scientific Advisory Committee, composed of experts from academic and industrial entities, both internal and external to the consortium, is a scientific evaluation consultative body.
It advises the Project Leader on project orientations and evaluates the progress of the implementation plan as well as the achieved results.
It aims at maintaining the consortium at the forefront of knowledge worldwide and tackling specific technical difficulties.

The Intellectual Property Use and Dissemination Committee (IPUDC)

A IUPDC is set up to assist the Project Leader and the persons in charge of the dissemination of knowledge in WP5.1 (Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation) for the day-to-day management of the knowledge.

The IUPDC is in charge of updating of the pre-existing know-hows and preparing the plans of protection, use and dissemination for the Executive Committee and Governing Board.
The IPUDC is composed of 6 persons, of which 3 representatives of the Academic Contractors and 3 representatives of the Industrial Contractors.
